European Association of Athletics Federations and Azerbaijan Athletics Federation  the long-term strategic plan for the development of athletics in the country steadily going forward.

Within the framework of the 2015 European Games,  European Association of Athletics Federations has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the European Olympic Committees about integration of  2015 European Athletics Team Championships ranked 3rd Division.

The Council of the European Athletics President Hansjörg Wirz said. "We pleased  our 2015 European Athletics Team Championships 3rd Division already have an agreement to be part of the Games. At the same time, the Azerbaijani athletes, will compete in this league, and it's due to take place in their native lands will create additional opportunities for them. "

2015 European Athletics Team of the 3rd Division Championship in will be held June 20-21 2015. We are determinate to hold this event at the highest level  with our partners, but also our responsibility and our duty, taking into account the development of this type of sport on the continent and in order to successfully implement a long-term strategic plan in detail with Azerbaijan Athletics Federation.

Before Nanjing Youth Olympic Games will take place the European qualifying tournament in May 30 - June 1 for the Youth Olympic Games will host athletics. In autumn, the European Athletics Meeting will be held in Baku on October 9-11.

The delegation of the European Athletics Association recently visited Azerbaijan to attend a meeting of the Youth Olympics European Qualifying Competition. In subsequent discussions on the development of athletics in the country will be held at the end of May.

"Chingiz Huseynzade, President of Azerbaijan Athletics Federation and its long-term plan for the development of athletics in the country are ready to cooperate with us, and we will go forward on the road on the correct path, he said." - Said President Wirz.
